World Canopy Piloting Championships 2018

7th FAI World Canopy Piloting Championships & 1st FAI World Canopy Piloting Freestyle Championships absolutely one of the greatest sport event in which I had the opportunity to participate as a filmmaker and photographer. The Parachute World Championships were organized by the WrocloveSky Club in Szymanów near Wrocław, Poland. Canopy Piloting is the most difficult and spectacular parachuting type, it is an extremely spectacular sport because the key part of each jump is very close to the audience. Competitors fly at enormous speeds, often exceeding 130 km/h above the pond, often touching the water surface with different parts of the body. Basic Canopy Piloting is divided into three sub-disciplines, accuracy, speed and distance. Each of the disciplines is extremely spectacular, because the player must perform the task entrusted to him with extreme precision, the margin of error is practically non-existent. Additionally during this event the first ever Canopy Piloting Freestyle World Championships took place. Freestyle is about performing very difficult and extremely dangerous aerobatic figures on the water just in front of the eyes of the audience and the judges. Each player before the jump declares what figures will show and then the judges evaluate the precision, technique and performance aspects of the show. This is the most difficult and the most dangerous form of Canopy Piloting, the competitors are exposed to very dangerous accidents. It is an honor for me that I could be part of this extraordinary sport performance. Players from all possible corners of the world, who share one thing, passion for flying! They are amazing people, very positive about life, incredibly crazy, funny and, above all, very open. From them until they feel passion and devotion to what they do, for many of them it does not matter if they will reach a high place, for them the most important is great fun, adrenaline and healthy sport competition.
